Two of my sketches from today's Urban Sketchers Sydney excursion to Sydney Olympic Park. I brought along watercolour pencils in the colours of the five Olympic rings but then looked in vain for suitable subject matter. Eventually made do with the entry attendant at a construction site (plus his orange hi-vis vest, of course). Didn't leave enough time for painting at the brick pit site, so that one's a 20-minute speedy number with little detail. I think, however, I managed to convey the send of vertical as well as horizontal depth.

Did some walking around #SydneyOlympicPark after checking out an expo.
It’s a beautiful place when there is no major events going on. Grabbed a coffee, donut and soaked up the winter sun.

Went to see Dave Chappelle in Sydney last night. 18,000 people is a *big* comedy gig and most of it I watched on the big screen. This made me question what a live experience is - I could have got 75% of the experience at home.
Some of the support acts were good and some were terrible but Dave himself was great.
What was also remarkable was the fact that as well as Dave, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Post Malone were playing at Olympic Park and the food, public transport and ticketing/entry infrastructure were able to support that.
