[TIP] : If you create symlinks the target path MUST be a real path (i.e. may not having parts which are symlinks).

In case you do it nevertheless, the created symlink will not work :-(

To check if a path contain symlinks you can use the 'namei' tool.

To ensure the potential issue in general: always use `realpath` to make the target path symlink free :

ln -s $(realpath [target]) [link]

I am trying to figure out why can one update a .dylib file to a #symlink of a locally built file in a #MacOS #App and there is no error related to #signature check on #Apple #MacOS while running..

In this case the culprit #application is #Thunderbird and most probably is doing #dlopen of that changed dylib.

I thought #GateKeeper will stop this. #security #verification

Been there and have been confused by this ourselves. It was low on our list of stuff to do and so a static wallpaper it was. A #symlink might do the trick now that I think about it.

Somewhat unrelated follow up question...

Is there a way to contact the KNOME team members via email without going through #barracudaNetworks (the security company they use) which in my experience is garbage because they block good faith Tor users.
