Keeping the week going with some Edouard Lalo. I watched this video and read whatever analyses I could find on this specific piece and movement because I was trying to capture it all in words for a novel ('Children of Hyacinth').

It's insanely difficult putting melody into words. Keeping a close eye on Anne Akiko Meyers' playing just to describe finger movements and the use of the bow -- how everything all works together -- gave me a headache, but it was well worth the agony.

Freaking love this piece, btw.
