Thanks to the podcast #TrueAnon, I recently learned about the roots of the abusive Troubled Teen Industry and it's ties to #Synanon, a spin off from AA. The story is a wild ride. If you are looking for a good listen I highly recommend this series called The Game.

Started listening to podcast The Sunshine Place about #Synanon. I spent three years there (age 7 1/2 - 10 1/2) when my (already divorced) parents moved in. I often refer to my experience there as the defining trauma of my childhood, though later custody battles and disintegrating relationship with my father also can claim places on the medal podia.

For many Synanon really was what saved their lives and credit where it's due. Joe Sam says Check it out.
