J'aimerais centraliser tous mes calendrier, entre les applications Calendar sur mon Mac et mon Fairphone, Thunderbird, c'est infernal !

Qu'est ce que vous utilisez pour synchroniser tous vos calendrier ?

If you like , and , do not miss the latest preprint by Iván León and Hiroya Nakao: arxiv.org/abs/2308.02105 Here they present a method to approximate a limit cycle through an expansion of the phase response curve, which seems to be very general.

I asked Iván a pair of years ago if one could do something like this, because I was interested too. Great to know he got a nice solution to the problem!

How our hearts beat together: a study on based on a self-paced joint motor task

# ScientificReports

"Dyads engaged in a tapping synchronization task under different levels of synchrony. Increases in heart rate synchronization were found with no difference across conditions. The control analysis, which assessed synchrony between randomly combined dyads of participants showed no difference from the original dyads’ synchrony"

The time tracking system that my company uses, , has a nice calendar-like page where one can easily see which times have been logged on what projects and quickly identify any gaps.

Unfortunately, does not.

So I had the crazy idea of synchronizing both to my work calendar. That became part of my plans for my @chronolink service.

Clockodo was already integrated, but last week I implemented the Jira integration.

Always a good omen when the synchronization between my work O365 calendar and my MacOS Calendar app silently stops working. I thought my day looked unusually open. Turns out there are four meetings not synced to my local client. Sigh.

Today's update to the ChronoLink service:

- runs are now scheduled exactly every 3 minutes instead of 3 minutes after the last one finished.

- Bugfix: Events that start and end at the same date/time are now handled correctly by the "time" and "duration" conditions.

I am thrilled that our latest paper on is out and freely available! For the first time it uses our previous theoretical results to provide algorithms and a sample implementation that run in near time.

This, finding a provably correct subquadratic synchronization algorithm for many was one of the main theoretical problems in operational transformation (OT) and conflict-free replicated data types (CRDT). It's great to see our research into the algebraic theory of filesystem synchronization leading to this wonderful result, which we hope will pave the way to speed up a host of collaboration and decentralised data tools in the .

The data job that couldn’t swallow down 83 million files at a time has been broken into 30ish chunks, along directory tree lines. to subdivide when you can run some overnight. I’m sure there are many other languages that would call this easy as well, but skips past a lot of the stuff.

I should throw those numbers in the face of the line of business who owns the data, demonstrating what sorts of policies and practices they don’t have.

Our paper with L Csirmaz on is now available on arXiv. Based on our Algebraic Theory of Filesystems (ATF), it presents a provably correct subquadratic synchronization algorithm for multiple replicas, which is one of the main theoretical problems in the fields of Operational Transformation and Conflict-free Replicated Data Types. arxiv.org/abs/2302.09666

Programming languages and memory management and :

research.swtch.com/plmm

I'd noticed this PLMM paper by Russ Cox via an included reference to an Labs research paper I'd previously read by Hans-J. Boehm. Boehm's paper indicating that could not be implemented as a library; that the programming language and the compiler had to be involved in threading. That paper:

hpl.hp.com/techreports/2004/HP

There are some gnarly bits within the to contend with some of the more common cases here. This because OpenVMS IOSBs, LKSBs, itemlists, and other sundry giblets are inherently asynchronous and should be marked as volatile by the developer, but probably aren't. And various programming languages common on OpenVMS don't have a volatile keyword or related support.
