As we work to develop our cloud-based version of #SyncroSim, the architecture and framework has been top of mind for providing users the best possible experience. Combining server-side rendering and serverless edge computing to create faster, more responsive web applications seems like the best path forward.
Chris will be working on the development of many ApexRMS applications #SyncroSim Desktop, the SyncroSim Package Designer add-on, and the upcoming cloud version of SyncroSim. He also hopes to learn more about ecology and its different sub-domains, and to potentially support our direct modelling efforts for specific client projects in the future.
We are actively working on multiple projects that facilitate solving land #conservation problems. In collaboration with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, we are working on a ArcGIS plugin that compliments an online tool that assists in land conservation planning. Additionally, we have created a #SyncroSim package of the prioritizr package from #rstats. We believe these tools can be powerful to land managers and policy makers that are making complex decisions.

We have recently rolled out a new Youtube series demonstrating the functionality of different #SyncroSim packages!
These include Omniscape for #connectivity the BurnP3+ add on for ST-SIM, and the Package Designer! We are particularly excited about our Package Designer which simplifies package creation, making it easy to add custom functionality to SyncroSim!
Are you a #SyncroSim user? Save the date for SyncroSim 2023, a user conference hosted by us and the #USGS in collaboration with the #LANDFIRE Team.
The conference will bring together users of SyncroSim #modeling tools and provide opportunities to share and learn. The event will include optional one-day training sessions on the use of SyncroSim and SyncroSim packages, followed by two days of talks by scientists and managers in the field of ecological forecasting from across North America.

We use leaflet in many of our projects such as our R Shiny Applications and the web-based version of #SyncroSim. While there will certainly be some substantial changes required on our end, we are looking forward to this major release and the benefits it will bring.
Nous sommes ravis de démontrer l'utilisation pratique de l'algorithme de connectivité #Omniscape, intégré à #SyncroSim, en fournissant un outil d'appui décisionnel aux gestionnaires dans le cadre de la conservation écologique.

Forest management decisions can irreversibly affect future habitat availability and connectivity for the American marten. That’s why we’re working closely with CREAT to assess current and future marten habitat connectivity under varying forest management scenarios in northwestern Quebec. We’re excited to be showing the practical use of the #Omniscape connectivity algorithm, integrated into #SyncroSim, in delivering a decision support tool to managers in the context of ecological conservation.
Did you know #SyncroSim is going online?
We are in the works for developing a cloud-based version of SyncroSim. The new web-based platform will be ideal for sharing #spatial forecasting models, especially to assist in getting important findings into the hands of decision-makers. Through its integration with its desktop counterpart, SyncroSim Cloud allows you to publish your existing libraries online to share with others.
We are very excited by this latest development. More to come soon!
Katie is actively involved in maintaining and expanding the #SyncroSim software and packages, as well as the #rstats and #python APIs for SyncroSim. She is also currently working on a project with the National Park Service focused on modelling the impact of wetland restoration on carbon sequestration throughout the United States.
We are very excited to have released an #Omniscape package for #SyncroSim. Omniscape is a #modelling tool for habitat #connectivity based on circuit theory. This is one of our first packages in #julialang and allows users to run the latest features of omniscape.jl without ever having to interact with Julia directly. Full detail of the release can be found on our website
