New instance, so a new #intro post. I' don't really know what to say so I'll extend my bio a bit.
I'm a disabled lesbian trans woman from the north-west of England. I'm totally blind and have cerebral palsy. I possibly neurodivergent in some form or other as well but haven't been diagnosed.
I've been happily married for nearly 7 years at the time of writing. My wife doesn't do much on social media so I usually don't mention her name in public posts.
of my interests include:
Music, both playing and listening. I play keyboards, drums and bass. I love synthesisers and learning how to program my own patches on the ones that are accessible to me. I have a fairly eclectic music taste and favourite genres include pop, soul, R&B, rock, electronic music and others. It's probably easier to say what I don't like.
reading. mainly fantacy and sci-fi but I'll give most things a go if the blurb grabs me.
Technology interests me, but mainly as an end user rather than messing about with servers and stuff like that, although I have done a bit of coding. One tech thing I am fascinated by though is speech synthesisers.
Accessibility is of course important to me, and I've been known to go on rants about that. I'm a full-time screen reader user. NVDA on windows and VoiceOver on iOS.
I've done a fair git of Wikipedia editing in the past, but not much these days.
I think that'll do for now, but feel free to ask me things. I don't bight, much.

I have two #modular racks, each around 200hp. The idea was that they be quite different, but my preoccupations are such that they keep inching toward similarity. The criteria seem to be: no sequencers, low on oscillator (and no fancy ones), 2+ filters, high on utility, and then sample and holds, delay, and reverb. A bit ascetic, a bit old-school. Building two very similar ones is a bit preposterous — I recognize that. But it happened accidentally. #eurorack #synthesisers

My bio says I'm a musician and I've not really posted anything about that.
Well,, I dabble with electronic music for a hobby and very occasionally upload random things I've made to Soundcloud and youTube. I mainly do music for my own personal enjoyment and folk actually listening to stuff I make isn't that important to me.
Weird mindset to have I know, in the age of seemingly everyone being content creators but there it is.
I play synths mostly, as well as designing my own patches on ones that are accessible to me as a blind person.
As well as stuff with keys on, I also play drums and bass.
I'm far from an expert at any instrument. also my cerebral palsy effects my coordination and dexterity quite a bit, particularly on my left side, which can be annoying.

As promised / threatened last night: here's some music by TONTO'S EXPANDING HEAD BAND. Tonto = The Original New Timbral Orchestra. I was incorrect in what I said last night; TONTO wasn't entirely a modular Moog. It started out that way, but later incorporated modules by Serge, ARP, Roland, etc.

This is their ZERO TIME album from 1971. If you've never heard this before, it's gorgeous.
