Just now accidentally hit the side-positioned power button again on my #System76 Darter Pro, initiating a power down. Just remapped the button to suspend in logind.conf so that doesn't happen again. #Linux

@mdsumner you may want to also ask who isn't happy for a fair result. I believe they generally are happier hardware wise with Linux than the average computer since ChromeOS, like android, runs on the Linux kernel. Though these days you are pretty safe with as long as you avoid Nvidia. If i had to buy a computer at a store it would be a chrome book, but since i can shop online, I got a #System76 laptop. Incredible performance to price ratio. Great freedom.

For that price, though, you could almost get a #System76 launch keyboard and have a nice gui config tool. ;)

I'm rocking #NixOS #xfce edition at the moment on my #system76 #pangolin .

I've missed you xfce , KDE is great but I like the look more of xfce. It just feels right.

NixOS has been a great learning experience so far love the reproducibility.

I think I switch from #Fedora to Debian back in 2002... ish. Wow... even that was more than 20 years ago.

Haven't left the family since. Currently running #Pop_OS 22.04 on my daily driver (a #System76 Oryx Pro).

So, I installed #opensuse #tumbleweed on my #system76 gaze16-3050 and all I can say is, Wow!

This machine really flies now...using it is like cutting butter with a hot knife. I've never seen CPU usage < a whole percentage point, and I almost wouldn't believe it if I didn't experience it.

Mhhhh now I got my #TuxbookAir running, but installing #Linux does not work as expected 😕

BOOM! Pop!OS #system76 on a 13” 2015 vintage MacBook Air. Took some doing to get the WiFi working but it is rocking now! Far better OS then what apple puts out 🤷🏽‍♂️, in my humble opinion!

Does anyone here have or know about the #hp #devone ? I'm wondering if it's at ALL possible to swap that display with a non glossy one?

I know it didn't come as an option, but is there a compatible panel that can be swapped out? Or even a similar HP model?

We used a Flir camera while testing my #system76 Adder laptop while benchmarking it on cyberpunk 2077 with RTX on and all the settings super high

Got a solid 45 plus frames per second and exhaust heat never went above 50C. The SSD and the monitor inverter were the hottest external parts.

They really know how to design thermals

I wonder if plain #Debian 12 works well on the 13th-gen #System76 Galago. I just don't like Pop!_OS that much.

I started on KDE and loved that "you can configure *EVERYTHING*", so always find GNOME under-customizable.

But, after using #System76's POP_OS variant a bit, I have to admit that GNOME certainly is clean, simple, and good looking.

I've had the same desktop for several years now and I keep considering a new desktop from System76 but I'm always discouraged by the price.
