Was playing with wonky systemd, extending shutdown times for the server tonight. Kinda fun.

Seems to be a very poorly designed system but it kinda works. The engineering is sound but the operation- yikes! #systemctl

Probably should play with BSD again and compare...is supposed to have more control.

I like systemctl/journalctl a lot, except for stupid cutting off of long lines.

Customer: I've added the output of "systemctl status xxxx.service".
Me: "Can you run systemctl status xxxx.service -l so I can see the whole logs?"
Customer: Why don't your tools don't give the information you require by default?"

Funny thing is I taught start and enable but the told every class to use #systemctl enable --now instead to avoid the problem.

Hi #linux folks here, anyone knows whether it is possible to seamlessly chose whether the laptop should go to sleep in deep or s2idle mode?

Basically I'd like for a way to tell my computer "go to deep sleep" when I want to save battery (like 2/3 times a day) and default to idle when I close the lid the rest of the time, for 2 minutes at a time, 50 times a day.

Is there a way to do that, e.g. with #systemctl ?
