A popular #systemdesign question is design of a social media platform. These questions are more in depth and will usually come up during senior and staff level interviews. These designs are meant to test your knowledge of distributed systems and optimizations for very large scale systems. I created an overview of a design for Twitter. I detailed trending processing in a separate slide.

Another common #systemdesign question is asking how to design PasteBin service. This is similar to TinyURL design question but with a few additional considerations.

I’ve been working through some commonly asked #systemdesign questions and trying to create some concise diagrams for them. Sort of like a little chest sheet slide. The most ubiquitous one I think is designed TinyURL. Here’s my notes on it in case anyone else finds this helpful.
