Hmmm, well, can't say i'm especially thrilled. This morn i did its first normal-usage discharge-cycle... sitting in my sunroom with the wan autumnal sun warming my back, i opened the lid which Resumed it, then began my standard daily browsing.
#Fedora #KDEPlasma's #SystemTray battery widget initially predicted an expected, or maybe just possible, 3 hrs 20 minutes ahead of me, which would have been fabbo. Alack, alas, instead i only got ~90 minutes.
That's especially irritating coz i'd explicitly chosen to buy the 9-cell 7800 mAh one, not the standard [like my dead one] 6-cell 5200 mAh one. Sigh. Ofc, this was now its peak performance; tis only gonna get progressively worse hereafter. Grumble.

@omartwotone Yes but #flameshot runs from #SystemTray, whereas annoyingly #spectacle still does not have this basic ability to minimise to ST. Better than both, coz not only for ST minimisation but also delightfully being tabbed [ie, multiple pics available simultaneously] is #ksnip. Works perfectly in #x11, sadly only partly in #wayland [no rectangular area].

@mcrocker Gnome Devs' aspirations & visions for a DE UX fundamentally & irrevocably clash with mine. I rely on several essential apps whose own UI designs rely on running with an icon in the #SystemTray for important parts of their basic functionality. No S/T, no viability of said apps, ergo, no viability of such a DE for me. Whilst the couple of Extensions restoring S/T functionality are ok, their breakage after each G update is workflow-crippling.

π‘ I discovered & installed the free #EarTrumpet multi-volume control app for #Windows10/11 today. It provides an easy way to adjust the #volume of multiple apps playing #audio simultaneosly. π

I configured settings to display the EarTrumpet legacy icon in the #SystemTray to avoid confusion with the default #Windows audio volume control icon (I still need to use the default audio control to select #DolbyAccess for my speakers / earbuds).

#Firetray is back.
On #KDE, I used to use Firetray so that when I minimized #Thunderbird an #icon appeared in #SystemTray as well as telling me how many new messages were waiting to be read. Well, when version 60 of #TB came out, it broke that #addon much to my chagrin. However, I just discovered that someone has #forked the old version and it now works with my current version. Thanks go to the author #Ximi1970
