I had some caramel sauce on a few apple slices this afternoon. Blood sugar shot up to 356. I think my #omnipod over corrected. In less than 2 hours my blood sugar dropped to 53. Got a picture when it finally started going up. I don't know why the alarm didn't go off sooner. Honestly, thought I might die. Sucks being alone when stuff like that happens.

So my attempt to become a #cyborg is on hold. Digging through the stuff my pharmacy sent I saw that there were no glucose sensors that I need (I’m on Dexcom G7 and I need to switch to G6 that’s the one that works with the insulin pump). Checked my online pharmacy and saw that I don’t have a prescription for them. So, I call my endo, she sends the script in, but my pharmacy said they won’t fill my G6 script until my G7 cycle is up. So now I gotta wait until 6/21 before I go cyborg. #t1diabetes

There are days I just get so frustrated with my kids diabetes. Who has to argue with their kids about whether they can have rice or pasta (so their blood sugar stays relatively stable at night).

End of the world, no, but I do feel like a tyrant about something that in most cases would be considered fairly healthy. #T1Diabetes

OK Mastodon, anyone successfully using a deGooglefied phone with a #CGM app? i wear a #DexcomG6 using and a #TandemDiabetes #tSlim2 using the #tConnect app, all on #iOS. i’m maybe 2 years out on a new phone, and would very much like to get away from Apple and Google, but i’m worried these apps might not work on #GrapheneOS or #eOS. they exist for #Android, but seem pretty persnickety about versions. boosts welcome, especially if you know any #T1D / #T1diabetes nerds. ✌️

So, this is potentially huge for diabetics in the UK.

Only looks to be targeting about 25% of people so far, but when they all (hopefully) become much better controlled and healthier, we can get it rolled out to even more people!

I have hopes for me personally, of course, maybe smooth out the mountain range my sugar levels normally are.

Oh, found the max temp basal increase in #AndroidAPS. This might help tighten up the closed loop a little bit. #DIYLoop is certainly a learning process, with a fairly steep initial curve, but it is so worth it to get over that hump. It is definitely starting to feel a bit easier. #T1D #T1Diabetes
