Kane was the first living traveler from Tashal that Sofia’s group had found; with far more magical beasts on Earth, the others became prey before they could be rescued. Kane was excited to see the castle that the taciturn scouts described, but upon reaching it they had to bed down for the night within the cover of the tree line; a flock of pyrosaurs was on the hunt, and even Sofia’s hellhound would be hard pressed to scare them off without a fight.
