Today I called up the Ministry of the Interior here in #Taiwan to sort out a small administrative matter. Ms. Liao on the other end was super-helpful and friendly, and sorted everything out there on the spot. At the end of the call, I felt pleased with my new-found bravery when navigating baffling bureaucratic procedures in #Chinese.

The issue, it turned out, was that the house number in our address was written as just a number, e.g. "X", rather than being written as "No. X" / "X 號"...

Spouse and I are still recovering from jetllag (12 hour time difference) after we visited family in Taiwan and then stopped by #Singapore and #Bali on the way back.

In #Taiwan, part of our stay was in #Alishan, with breathtaking views all around - also bought plenty of #coffee and #tea from the area. In Bali, bought some coffee from Kintamini which I have been brewing at home and it is lovely, if a little bright for my tastes.
