@davidonformosa Well then: Go, Terry, go join the race.
That will pave the way for #WilliamLai who certainly will not sell out #Taiwan to #China.
Not so sure on that one regarding Hou, Ko or Gou.

My latest on the #TaiwanElection is out at Taiwan Insight. TL;DR: Taiwan is way behind other democracies on providing alternative ways to vote.
A under reported factor in the #TaiwanElection (mainly because it’s hard to quantify), but I think many people found the incessant online attacks against DPP critics to be distasteful. Of course all sides guilty to some extent, but the party in office always looks worse.

Your seemingly benign supporters might have been the biggest source of dis/misinfo in #TaiwanElection and @DPPonline@twitter.com is suffering. Anyone who intends to study how Taiwan is dealing with #disinfo w/o diving into this part is missing internal dynamics.

Taiwan’s President, Tsai Ing-wen, resigned as head of Democratic Progressive Party, following nationwide losses to the Kuomintang. Key races such as the mayoral races in Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, and New Taipei City were all won by Kuomintang candidates. The Taipei election was won by Chiang Wan-an, who is alleged to be the great-grandson of Chiang Kai-shek. #news #worldnews #taiwan #taiwanelection #taipei #kuomintang

Surprise of the night so far is the strong performances of KMT in Tainan and Pingtung, with both races within a few thousand votes at this stage. #TaiwanElection
Most competitive races so far are in Taiwan's outlying counties of Penghu, Kinmen and Lienchiang (Matsu). DPP is up by a few hundred as it tries to win back Penghu. KMT is fighting itself plus independents in the other races. #TaiwanElection
KMT very strong in early voting, already with big leads in key battlegrounds of Taipei, Taoyuan and Keelung. TPP looking favoured in Hsinchu City. #TaiwanElection

Glad I’ve wised up and stopped answering unexpected doorbell rings — free masks without having to interact with strangers. :blob_grinning_sweat:
For folks outside of #Taiwan, this is a campaign flyer for the upcoming #taiwanelection happening this week. It’s common for candidates to give out small items of swag.
In the past, I’ve mostly gotten pocket tissues, and once a kitchen sponge. This is the 3rd mask I’ve gotten this year from #Taipei candidates.
