As annoying as the #ReplyGuy phenomenon is, it's a sociotechnical problem. If we can build a better understanding of why people "misbehave", then maybe we can reduce the frequency by providing better affordances.
Blocking will stop those who are determined to do the wrong thing, but I'd love to make it easier for the rest of us to get it right.

PS: The above #TalkAloudProtocol feels uncharacteristically self-indulgent, but I'm leaving it here as fodder for anyone doing #UXDesign for conversational affordances.
I'm well-aware of the stated reasons for deliberately restricting or excluding features like #search or #quotes from this medium. But it's also useful to capture the unintended consequences of those choices.
While there are always tradeoffs, I hope that abuse resistance + discovery don't need to be so mutually exclusive.
