These memes are going around, but what about those privacy disrespecting, deprecated legacy silos like #Faceplant, #Twitter, and #InstaSPAM or #Reddit - Why is it that we're preaching to the choir instead of to the sinners of the #SunnyVale_Syndrome?

Why are you using Dropbox? There's plenty of free #NextCloud services out there instead, or if you are paying for #Dropbox you can self-host or pay a hosting company to host NextCloud for less than your'e already paying.

Sounds like you've got an opportunity for a solution there - a golden opportunity (NextCloud also has all the document support that Dropbox does too) - for free.

Part of unleashing the concept of personal freedoms, is dependent upon the notion of personal infrastructure.

The IBM 5150 Personal Computer w/64K of RAM on the motherboard and a DIN connector interfacing a cassette deck with Microsoft ROM BASIC was one such innovation (as opposed to S-100's) that brought such freedoms to people in 1981.

Now, we enable #Fedizens to migrate from #deprecated silo mindsets to that of the #smolweb...

I'm sure it will (and already is) prove to be a very welcome trend moving forward as more people realize that moving from the deprecated #silos includes silo sites in the #Fediverse as well as platforms geared primary as espousing the deprecated silo philosophy too - not that silos aren't also worthy... in some cases, for **some** people :)
