For me, the one I liked the most so far is #TalosOS. Yes it's #kubernetes as on OS.
But it is so dead simple to bootstrap and work with. No ssh. Linux as an API. It's hard not to like it. 😅
Make it somehow use #nomad instead and I would probably use nothing else. 😁
I must say, the uptick on immutable linux OS is a very nice progression. 😄
Since I got my taste of #CoreOS pre Red Hat, I been using different types to get what works for me. Just to name a few:
- #OpenSUSE #MicroOS
- #TalosOS
- #AWS #BottleRocket
- #Fedora #SilverBlue
- #NixOS
#coreos #opensuse #microos #talosos #aws #bottlerocket #fedora #silverblue #nixos
Though now, I do have to remember those #k8s skills for my new shinny employer.
Meaning, it may not be such a bad thing to burn my old cluster and try something completely new in how to manager the state changes.
#talosos is pretty powerful. My most favored part is that they were able to make the OS be a gRPC API.

Due to this, no ssh, and no true mutation of the OS. Extremely powerful in how you able to mass bootstrap machines. And also how you do OS changes.
