I take tamoxifen as "a selective estrogen receptor modulator used to prevent breast cancer in women and treat breast cancer in women and men." (Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamoxifen)

It has a range of side-effects that are not fun, and mostly the ones I've experienced have been ok... well one good, two middling. I might have a fourth side-effect that would be bad.

I mean, side effects can be another form of cancer, DVT, blindness, stroke and other "fun" things (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamoxifen#Side_effects). Also macular degeneration, cataracts and other eye issues (https://www.karger.com/Article/FullText/508327).

My side effects have involved - lighter periods (oh thank god, the best), poor memory (not helpful), and a loss of libido (not helpful). I have a test for macular degeneration in my left eye tomorrow (which I failed last week at the end of an eye test, so it might have been fatigue).

My biggest complaint (apart from the memory issues and loss of libido) is that most of my health team don't actually monitor for the bad side effects and don't seem to be educated about them.

I've just discovered that tamoxifen can also result in anaemia and low haemoglobin, and yet NO ONE has suggested that (https://www.drugs.com/cdi/tamoxifen-tablets.html). Many incoming conversations with my GP.

Anyway, cancer - the gift that keeps on giving.

I'm in peri with a side order of #tamoxifen (preventative), and I did not realize my body could even produce so much sweat. I have Sweat Dreams. I'm a sweathog, Mr. Kotter.
