Pongaroa: Water treatment plant remains shutdown. Boil water notice still in place. Another update Monday. There is a water tank available at the community hall.

Akitio: boil water notice until further notice. Water available at Boat Club.

Tararua remains under a state of emergency

Focus is on responding to community need, gathering info on unaccounted people & property & capturing the intel gathered by the community outreach team (the convoy).

Convoy will visit Waione/Akaroa Monday to continue community outreach & welfare needs assessments. The EOC will be processing needs assessments & cooridinating supply deliveries & support.

We are concerned with the rising levels of our rivers that are due to peak this afternoon during high tide.

Particular areas of concerns are those located by Ākitio, Herbertville and Owāhanga Rivers.

We are urging our residents that are located in our river areas - please evacuate and move to higher ground. Stock also needs to be moved to higher ground for their safety.

Rivers are rising fast in our coastal areas. If you are beside one of those rivers or near one of those rivers, move to high ground.

We are concerned around the lack of telephone and digital connectivity at this stage so if you can help spread that word.

An evacuation centre has been set up at Dannevirke Sports Centre.
