Itās been such an absolutely lovely week at #tasa2022 of seeing colleagues I hadnāt seen for years, some Iād never seen in person. My highlight was quality ECR time, after weāve all had a few hard years (pandemic, horrendous job market, the increasing demands in our neoliberal universities, general unraveling of colonial capitalist society). But it was nice to be celebrating PhDs, jobs, grants, just surviving and seeing the new fab phd research š„ Also THESE LAMINGTONS #academia #sociology #food

And that's a wrap. Thanks to all attendees for making #TASA2022 such a wonderful event. Australian sociologists really are the BEST.

Fascinating keynote at #TASA2022 from Prof Barbara Prainsack, thinking through why the greater attention drawn to inequality during the pandemic ultimately has failed to deliver radical social change. How can we conceptualise this inaction, without focusing on individual responsibility? #sociology #academia #socialtheory
