Any of you ever just randomly stop updating #homeassistant after a breaking change meant recompiling #tasmota _again_ and you couldn't be bothered because of the pandemic so you just stayed on a release from 2021.

Nachdem ich nun schon seit einer ganzen Weile meinen Gaszähler per ESP32-Camera ablese, habe ich nun endlich auch meinen Stromverbrauch im Blick, mit einer Shelly 3EM direkt hinter dem "offiziellen" Zähler.

Jetzt muss ich erstmal beobachten, wie gut die beiden Werte übereinstimmen.

Primäres Ziel ist es, zu beobachten, wie mein (demnächst zu installierendes) Balkonkraftwerk sich auf meinen Stromverbrauch aus dem Netz auswirkt.

ich scheitere gerade an der Verwendung von Regeln für meine Tasmota Steckdosen. Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen?
Das Szenario sieht so aus:
Zwei Steckdosen sind im Einsatz und über ihre IP-Adressen im WLan erreichbar. Wenn der Stromverbrauch an Dose 1 unter 200 W sinkt, soll Dose 2 eingeschaltet werden. Die Bedingung soll alle 5 Minuten abgefragt werden. Werden die 200 W wieder überschritten => Dose 2 wieder aus.
Das möchte ich nur unter Verwendung der beiden Dosen erreichen.
Kein Raspi
Kein iobroker o.ä.
Kein sonstiges Geraffel.

My father has a #Zigbee bridge and a bunch of #Sonofd temperature sensors, and the app is just horrible. The connection to the app is unreliable, the graphs are useless, etc. But I don't want to just flash #Tasmota to them and make him dependent on my #homeasisstant

Is it just me, or when others restore a @homeassistant@fosstodon.org @homeassistant@a.gup.pe backup, their devices are unavailable? It doesn't matter if it is a #Zigbee #ZHA integration or a #WiFi #Tasmota integration device, I have to readd every device when the backup is restored. It would be nice if there was a way to not to have to go through this.

Turns out, the AtHom #LED controller is quite happy operating at between 5v and 24v. But all it does is pass that voltage level along to the strip.

The STRIP requires 12v. So I was able to talk to #tasmota just fine, told it to turn on the strip and do it's thing... and nothing.

Took a bit to figure out I was only giving it 5v. Bench supply turned up to 12v, WE HAVE LIGHTS!

Hey so see that little line under DC indicator on this multimeter? That's not decoration. That's negative. Means that the power leads were likely backwards when i was working on this controller, which probably damaged the regulator.

In UI design, this seems like a poor place to put the minus sign.

Today's #homeautomation task. I was weak. I gave up. I'm a terrible #maker - I bought pre-loaded LED controllers that already have #tasmota loaded.

My friends circles say this is fine, there's better ways to spend your time. But I feel like I'm selling out.

If I didn't mine the silicon myself and forge it with a hammer made from a meteorite into an IC, I'm just #faking it.
