We do a surf and turf on Xmas Eve. My husband does a roast, and I make a big shellfish chowder (lobster, scallops, clams).
Does anyone else do a seafood meal on Xmas Eve? It seems to be a largely "East Coast" thing.

What's on the holiday menu this year?
We're doing roast leg of lamb this year, but potato dressing will still be a feature (as always). I restocked my supplies when visiting Nova Scotia in November. ;)

Not a fan of pumpkin pie. It's squash pie at our house!
I have a busy work schedule right up until Christmas Eve, so I'm making them today and freezing them until Boxing Day.

Have you ever tried squash pie?

When I go to #NovaScotia, I stock up on #WebsterFarms beans. It's hard (read: impossible) to find these varieties here in Eastern Ontario. #regionalfoods #tasteofnovascotia

I bought a 5kg jug of Crosby molasses when I was in NS.
I don't mess around with the 500ml containers up here in Ontario. 😂
My family has been teasing me that I went East to go grocery shopping. (TBF, they're not totally wrong, but it was simply a pleasant add-on to a long-overdue visit back home.)

Boiling up the raisin mixture for this seasonal #tasteofnovascotia. I almost always make the first war cake of the season this week of November!
If you've never tried it before, give it a go. It gets even better as it ages. ❤️
