Having enjoyed visiting #Tate_Britain and #The_National_Gallery today I decided to walk up Charing Cross Road from The National and get the train from TCR to Mile End of the way to the bread shop in Lauriston Village. On the way up Charing Cross Road I passed the old school building which has been somewhat spruced up since my days there, 1973 - 1976! Time flies when you are having fun... #St_Martins_School_of_Art

Another #Cezanne in London, this time at #The_National_Gallery, almost under daylight which is 'a good thing'. Earlier at #Tate_Britain I checked the lighting in a couple of the collection gallery spaces and it is missing about 60% of the spectrum... 'Somebody' needs to know what this means!

The lighting in the collection gallery was similarly compromised (see my other posting) and on reflection (sorry) I think that this may be an issue throughout #Tate_Britain and may also account for my 'puzzled' visit to the #Cezanne and #Van_Gough paintings in the #National_Gallery collection. I will make a point of re-visiting soon...

At #Tate_Britain today to see the exhibition by #Lynette_Yiadom_Boakye, illustrated here, A Passion Like No Other 2012. I wondered why the skylights were closed and noticed that the lighting was 'odd'. On checking with a spectroscope I found that the lights were only emitting narrow bands across the spectrum, red, blue and green so the illumination of the paintings was somewhat compromised...
