At the #TateModernLondon yesterday I came across a truckload of #maths in various #artworks but, of course, none of it was explored in the interpretation which means that only the most mathematically-excitable of visitors will notice it. One that struck me hard is in the attached photograph.

From a distance, my initial thought was "cow" but according to the interpretation panel it's called
> 'Constellation According to the Laws of Chance'
and
> "...the laws in the title are those of flux and chance that characterise the inaccessible order of nature."

This is a really nice and surprisingly accurate and pithy description of mathematical 'chaos', or at least a good chunk of its application to the real world: if you're engaging with this artwork you are engaging with a reality important and deep mathematical concept, whether or not you (or the artist) realise it.
