By the way, I was #tatting while getting tattooed last week. I only managed to do maybe 15-20 cm during the tattoo (had to bite my tongue a lot when it hurt! And was definitely undoing a lot more errors too) but did some more on the train and some more hours this week.
It's fun! I guessed the pattern based on a picture I found because I didn't want to read instructions, just do the thing.

I was so busy this week but finally could sit down now and finish my very first #tatting project! Thanks to @yarnplayer's tutorial it was a success!! I'm honestly glad it was short and sweet! I needed that clear progress feeling 😊 some good dopamine right there 😁

Feeling a bit better overall today (even though I was just blessed with a headache 😅) but the cough is a bit less violent while also having taken less meds. I was incredibly pleased to notice some mental bandwidth, so I started teaching myself a little bit of #tatting. I had stumbled across the technique a while ago & had ordered a #tattingShuttle just waiting for me to have time & energy to try it out!

tried #tatting for the first time yesterday and only made knots. my so who tried to teach me was surprised how I just didn't get it, lol. 🤷‍♀️

I am the parents place today and wanted to try out the bumble-bee design from my tatting book, when I found one of my shuttles with the extra thin thread...so I tried out the butterfly design again...look how cute it looks!!!

Butterflies symbolize visitations from loved ones. Today in memory of my beloved Yiayia I finished a bunch of my tatted ones. Not sure if they will become earrings or decorate handmade cards- all I know is that these were made with 💕 Love 😘

Actually... I might add some more US F, G, and H hooks to my wallet. (I also buy estate lots from ebay.)
& some spare tatting shuttles right now, fill them up with size 10 thread, and put them in a baggie in my tote bag, just in case I go to something like a fiber festival and someone wants to learn.

I have a little time today.

(SIze 3 thread is better for some people to really see whats happening with tatting, but size 3 is hard to fit on tatting shuttles.)

And... I forgot how to tat a rosette. The ones on the left were my attempts. The one on the right is how I did it after watching a video. Oh well. It happens.

タティングレースの薔薇モチーフを繋いで整えドイリー(透かし模様の入った敷物)が完成。
そして最後までやって勘違いに気がつく。

8目、1目ピコット1目、8目じゃなかった。
8目、ピコット、8目だった。

モチーフも混乱して表と裏が入り混じった。平らな所に置いて繋げるべきだった。
練習作品で気がついてよかった。次回は間違えないようにするよ。

I've been planning to practice tatting this week of #Fiberuary. I need to watch more videos about making loops because I'm missing something. I'm also having problems smoothly sliding my work off the needle (it's blunt, BTW). I may try using a shuttle again.

I'm really enjoying the tatting thread that I got. It's so much smoother than anything natural I've ever worked with.

There's this Black woman that is doing a tat-along doily (make a lace doily with her round by round.) On youtube.

And I just... appreciate her so much. 🥺 I could tat doilies and other lace alone. But what fun is that?
Ok its kinda fun.
But not as fun. You know?

ようやくタティングレースで薔薇のモチーフが一つ完成。これを全部で７枚作りながら繋げていきます。

ピコットや編み目にバラつきがあるけど数を作っていくうちに整ってくるのでしょう。

久しぶりのタティングレースです。
シャトルを2つ使用して一つのリングを編んでいます。上から下にかけて編んでいくに従って目が整っていくのがよくわかります。一つビーズを通し忘れて気がついたのが終わる直前で直しようもなく完了。両端を結んで指輪にします。
