@inklings I know this from bitter experience.

I'm a software developer at my day job, and as such my productivity isn't easily quantified. I've had a lot of bosses try to judge the quality of my work by how many lines of code I've written or how many hours a day I put in, but it's all bullshit.

It takes as long as it takes, and the only sensible metric is whether my code works according to spec. But managers who weren't previously developers don't get it.

So it's #Taylorism all the way down.
