120 followers · 252 posts · Server hachyderm.ioI'm reading and hearing lots of rants about #microservices these days but oftentimes people advocating #monoliths forget one of the major advantages of microservices: They **can** radically reduce the trusted computing base (#tcb) of a particular entity, i.e. make each individual part of your application more secure. It's true that you pay for that advantage with more operational compexity but it's worth weighing this complexity against the security benefit that microservices offer.

Exceptions are #MobiCascais in #Cascais, #TCB in #Barreiro and #Carris in #Lisbon itself, everything else is now just Carris Metropolitana. #GoogleMaps didn't update yet but you can find all new lines in the #Moovit and #CityMapper apps. Many of the old scattered companies didn't show up in basically any planning app, so even though many lines are basically the same as the old ones, they are WAY more accessible now. Also they all use exactly the same simple pricing system, so you know that #Zapping will work on all of them for occasional trips and the #Navegante pass (o #Passe) works no issue too. They replaced ALL buses, it's a completely new fleet, so no worn out vehicles any more either!
