Sad to see Maria Holdcroft #tcrno9cap41 had to scratch because of injuries sustained in a crash. She was having an epic race, fastest solo women for a long while and of course she'll be remembered as well as the first to say 'fuck these mountains' at CP1 and riding the Po valley route.

In the early hours of this morning, #TCRNo9 rider Maria Holdcroft (#tcrno9cap41) crashed "in a deep rut on a road" on the coast near Platamonas, Greece. She is currently in hospital, treated and comfortable. Potentially being discharged today, and not having scratched yet, Maria plans to make it to the Finish Line when she is ready.

I wish a good and fast recovery and cross fingers, that she can finish the race!

Ouch! Bad news got confirmed by Maria #TCRNo9Cap41 on her FB page 😣 Quite a bummer to have this happening in the last stage of the race!

Maria Holdcroft (#tcrno9cap41) war die erste, die von cp1 nach süden in die po-ebene abgebogen ist. was wie ein riesen umweg aussieht, hat ihr viele höhenmeter und raues alpenwetter erspart.
gerade ist sie auf den letzten kilometern vor cp3 und hat mächtig aufgeholt zu Jaimi (cap4).

Finde die Routenwahl von #tcrno9cap41 (Maria Holdcroft) originell und nicht schlecht. Hab den Eindruck, dass sie damit sogar Plätze beim #tcrno9 gut gemacht hat. Ich wäre persönlicher aber auch lieber durchs Pustertal gefahren. Die italienische Ebene in Venetien ist mir zu öde und zu gefährlich!
