Unfortunately, I am one of these, and I'm also one of the 13% that qualified since 2019 and have left the teaching profession. Overworked (60+ hours a week), stressed, and trying to force large numbers of children through a system that prioritises grade attainment and targets over an enriching and worthwhile education. I and many others trained to teach with the aim of supporting those children that need help the most. I feel guilty that I could not do that, but had to leave my 'dream' profession for the sake of my mental health. Shame on successive governments that have created this rotten system.
