Heather Cox Richardson read the whole FL Social Studies document. It's at least as bad as I thought. She concludes:
... the fundamental story of this curriculum: nonwhite Americans and women “contribute” to a country established and controlled by white men, but they do not shape it themselves.
@Deglassco @blackmastodon@a.gup.pe @BlackMastodon@chirp.social I taught a critical thinking class geared toward police officers in Minnesota (2009-2016) and none of them knew what a Sundown Town was, nor that most Minnesota towns were.

I didn't hear about this in any history class. Not even in college. I read a book "Max" by Sarah Cohen Scali. That was my introduction to the Lebensborn program of the Nazis. I very much recommend it to anyone interested in historical fiction or WW2.

I stand corrected. US troops did not leave the South in 1877. The story of the story is a cautionary tale.

We must not ignore
That his’try unheeded
May well be repeated.
The scene’s déjà vu,
We’ve much work to do.

Here's another great map showing how frequently colonized peoples challenged European imperialism. We want to use more maps like this one when teaching imperialism. There are definitely other revolts that happened between 1880 and 1920. Please feel to include other visual resources related to those uprisings.
