I haven't had the stamina or energy to touch a wip for weeks, but with back to back days to rest, and give my #chronicpain and fatigue a kicking, I hope to return to #writing next week 😄

I'm glad to be at the stage of #longcovid recovery where my body only falls apart after 8-9 weeks of #teaching (used to be 5 🙃). This term is a huge improvement on last year!

This super cool video is of the Antikythera Mechanism built from Lego, including how it works! This ancient computer which tracked eclipses and important calendar dates is from Greece circa 100 BC. The original is more accurate and performed the same calculation with less pieces.

A thread on fairness in instructing. I think we do a terrible job training new instructors on what it really looks like to be fair. When I started as a new assistant professor, I was very concerned about being fair.

But, I didn’t think it was possible to be compassionate to students and also be fair.

This is because I saw any act of compassion to one student would be unfair to other students.
