I'm currently preparing a class on film analysis / filmmaking on Nomadland. I've decided to do it over the concept of 'American tradition', as Fern's sister refers to the nomadic life at one point. I want to bring some film references out, also part of other kind of 'American tradition', from which Nomadland also derives. For example: Stagecoach, The Searchers, The Grapes of Wrath, Thelma and Louise, The Road... etc. I want to keep it simple (not an advanced class) but there are so many options. At the same time, it's quite interesting, no?

Anyway, for my American and generally cinephile friends: any suggestions or ideas?
