In written communication, a writer's intended meaning can seem much more clear to the writer than it will appear to the reader.
Novice writers can struggle with this, worrying that they are being too obvious or believing their point has been adequately explained, and as a result, they can err on the side of under-explaining.
This challenge compounds where writing is used to demonstrate content knowledge and learners are attempting at once to both understand and communicate effectively.

So, I'm playing around with https://chat.openai.com/chat/ for a writing unit late in the semester, and just discovered that it makes up the most lovely and plausible citations of articles that I wish had been written. I'm on my fourth that doesn't exist, of course.
