So, the EnergyCup22 I made at Twitter came up with yttria-stabilized zirconia (#YSZ) as the winner. It is an oxygen ion conductive material that shows #fluorite structure. I am especially happy with this, as I am #TeamFluorite in @MineralCup.

Let's celebrate with an image from the lab: #YSZ normally is off-white, but if you add a bit of Co, which is frequently used as a sintering aid, you get a very nice violet color (single crystals obtained from TU Berlin). #energy #materials
