After watching #WhatTheHealth and #Cowspiracy, I made some time to check out a few other similar movies.
I first saw #Seaspiracy, and the message was very clear to me...
If you don't eat, but like and admire the intelligence of:
-#Whales 🐳
-#Dolphins 🐬
-#Sharks 🦈
and
-#Octopuses 🐙 (side note, #TeamOctopuses! 🐙🦑),
Then you shouldn't be eating #fish of any kind, and you should very well adopt a #vegan / #PlantBasedDiet. 🐟🌱🐠
Directed by Ali Tabrizi and available on Netflix, it has the same style as the previous films directed by Kip Andersen, so that could be seen as either a +ve or a -ve, depending on your bias. I thoroughly enjoyed it, finding the whale hunt and the subsequent whaler interview particularly powerful.
It is rated well on #imdb and is rated 'fresh' on #RottenTomatoes.
The second film I saw was #ForksOverKnives. This I found to be a much better film overall in presenting the history, science and research in benefit to a whole foods plant based diet. Sadly, I feel like the way it was filmed will put some people off (some -ve reviews talk about it being slow/boring (c.f. What The Health being over the top)). I personally didn't feel that. In fact, I am currently watching the Forks Over Knives Extended Interviews film, because I want to know more! It is the kind of film I wish someone recommended to me when it came out! It's the scientist in me talking. 🧑🔬
