Game dev day on #TeashopTeaceratops today!

Today I shall be replacing my crashy NPC scheduling system with something else. If I can't find a plug-in to handle it, I'm going to have to switch to a day = NPCs On/Night = NPC Off system.

If I was a programmer, I could probably figure this out, but I'm not, I'm a 2d Artist and UI/UX bod using RPGMaker MV, so we gonna fudge it till it works.

I've have spent all morning playing #TeashopTeaceratops, and I think I might have to rip out my NPC scheduling and use a plug-in, because there is *something* that seems to randomly cause the game to crash *after* doing farm chores and walking into town. I think I know what is causing it, but if I remove or alter it in any way, none of the dinos leave their houses at all. But if I leave it in, you can't play the game at all 🙃​

The farming system works through all of this though, which I'm taking as a positive.

I never do this, because I never stick to them, but I have some manageable ones this year, so this is my 2023 New Years resolutions;

- Get #teashopteaceratops to a releaseable state.

- bulk buy local seasonal produce, and dehydrate/pickle/can it so that I have enough to get through winter with no imports.

- Do more #MUMQUEST ⚔️ bike rides

- video these bike rides & put them on YouTube

- do a solo overnight camping trip with Tiny Person, on the cargo bike. (This is a biggie)

I'm calling it now; There won't be any more work from me on #TeashopTeaceratops until January at the earliest.

- I've been going through an arthritis flare up for the last few weeks, with no sign of it going away.

- Hubs has finished work until the new year.

-After next friday Tiny Person will be off school for 2 weeks.

- It has been a stressful and busy year and I just need to not think about stuff for a bit.

I will be coming back to it, but for at least the next 3-4 weeks, it's at the bottom of my priority list.

@alexantra maybe! The plan was to release #TeashopTeaceratops at the end of winter, but it’s a little up-in-the-air at the moment.

But if you like the idea of a farm sim where you’re a little tea-growing triceratops, you might want to follow the hashtag :)

Hello! I'm GameDev Mum/Teaceratops!
And I'm a Stay-at-home gamedev, who's made a lot of games (in studios) since 2008.

I'm currently making a game called #TeashopTeaceratops about being a triceratops and growing and producing tea for other dinosaurs. If you want to follow my game instead of me (totally understandable) you can follow that hashtag 🦕​

I'm not just a gamedev though, I'm a cargo-biking, preserve-making, arthritic, immigrant, urbanite mum, and I talk a lot about these last things too. 🚲​

The shop dinos go home at 5pm. There's some other dinos ambling around town, and they'll go home later.

I've got almost all my NPC's town schedules in the game :D

The dinos all come out of their houses at different times. Some walk to work, some walk to their favourite spots in town. At the end of the day, they all go back to their homes.

You can even stop and have a conversation with them, and there's multiple conversations you can have with each dinosaur!

....but I can't seem to make a gif small enough to post here :/

I ran out of dinosaur NPCs in #TeashopTeaceratops so I've made a bunch of Hadrosaurs.

Lambeosaurus, Olorotitan, and Corythosaurus are going in today :)
