This does likely also prove the provenance of your own images, which is also terrifying and will in no way come back to bite you ever

it has always been obvious that corporations/oligarchs/dictators were running off the same disinformation/psyops playbook, but lately it seems that they are running an algorithm -- if caught in a lie, double down with an ironic meme -- if there is an attempt to violently overthrow the elected government of a democratic nation, send vague tweet supporting *the people*, but don't condemn the violence, etc

Salesforce handled the layoffs like you expect a large corporate entity run by a billionaire to — good severance terms but focused on security against bad actors by locking people out quickly & maintaining secrecy at the top — while Slack handled it like I expected them to — with genuine humanity, caring, and focus on the people.

I fucking miss Slack when it still got to be Slack but I’m glad to have left while most of my memories were great.

Dear software guys

How often do folks want to join a Wi-Fi network that isn't connected to the internet? Pretty much never. Used to be a cool parlour trick in the naughts but that ship has sailed.

So how about devices look for a working internet connection & returning a "your trusted network is not connected" message rather than looking like it's connected.

Because turning off Wi-Fi on my phone shouldn't be the test that there's no internet connection.

I didn't know how much I liked looking at knitting pictures. As a quilter, I appreciate the skill and work that goes into each piece. Some talented people on here!

I also did not know how much I would enjoy reading the coding and open source posts about something of which I know very little. Again, very talented people sharing what they love to do.

Years ago, I stopped mentioning working late hours in my standup and team meetings because it was indirectly creating pressure on others to do the same.

Following the policy of sending no emails, git commits, and slack messages during non-work hours. It took years to understand what it could do the team culture.

Lets not glamourize working late or long hours.
