Heya! This is my #introduction

Living in the Ruhr region #ruhrgebiet, in the very West of #germany.

I work as a #TechnicalWriter and create/edit instruction manuals.

I enjoy my workouts in the #gym and since I live #carfree, #cycling is a regular thing. I like the entire topic of #mobility, with #transit, #trains, #urbanism, and #maps. #Sustainability is relevant, I'm a #vegetarian since 2005.

But then I love #tech, and #smarthome stuff, enjoy #languages, and #politics too.

Yesterday, I wrote code in Swift, Kotlin, C++, and JS. Today, I got to play with three different operating systems, SSH, MongoDB Enterprise, and a bunch of mongod/mongosh stuff.

Have I mentioned lately that I love being a #TechnicalWriter ? My job is literally to learn stuff and play with things so I can save other people time and make it easier for them to do their jobs.

I’m so glad I stumbled into a career that is such a happy place for me.

Hi! I’m Joshua. I live in the eastern part of #NorthCarolina and currently work as a #technicalwriter at @1password. I'm also (slowly) taking some classes toward a #psychology degree.

I may never post regularly, but it'd be safe to expect content related to handheld gaming devices, going to concerts, learning how to maintain a 100-year-old house, and whatever media I’m consuming at the moment.

I'm a #TechnicalWriter or #EducationEngineer depending on who you ask, an #iOSDev and #macOSDev hobbyist using #SwiftUI and #Realm, and I love #coffee way too much.

`@Model` annotation denotes this class is a data model.

`ModelConfiguration` is a configuration for - the `ModelContainer`. NOT the `@Model`.

The Model doesn't need a configuration. The `@Model` annotation does some heavy lifting to automagically hide away any "configuring" involved directly in the Model.

Cool #infosec #technicalwriter moment - I've just written one of the world's first chatbot and AI assistant acceptable use policies for my company. Unlike some other companies in our vertical, we're permitting the use of ChatGPT and similar technologies, but are forbidding submission of sensitive, confidential, and strategic data.

It's been 7 months since I started my job as a #TechnicalWriter and I am still loving it. Grateful every day.

Never knew that tinkering with the minutiae software and writing about it would give me such joy! Then again, I adore tinkering with #Obsidian so that was a clue!

Looked back at my old diaries where I angsted about feeling lost & not knowing what to do besides #journalism & #contentmarketing and wanted to tell my past self that I will find the answer eventually.
