One of the things I’m genuinely terrible at is getting photos of the works I make & design - especially when I’m operating as well. I never really get time to step back and go

“Ah yes. This is the thing”

Instead I experience them like the audiences, as liminal spaces & snippets of tales held together by the light I paint with.

But something I remember to ask for production stills. And sometimes I get to keep glorious moments like this forever

A little nerd out for my #TheatreTech pals

We programmed this show on an ETC Ion, and have chucked an ion in for the reprogramming day for each leg of this tour, but now we’re running off Nomad which I haven’t actually used.

So I’m very pleased with myself for figuring out how to add a GM, adjust the magic sheet, and lamp my HMI movers on & off, and a few of the hot keys to make this easier.

I definitely do better when I have to learn a new console for show reasons 😂

Today I learned that some of the new power points in my venue don’t work.

About half an hour before an event.

Cue scrambling around to find one that did, somewhere I could drop a cable without it being offensive to look at or a tripping hazard.
Which. Is a bit frustrating when we’ve been assured they’ve all been pinned out.
And, more relevantly, they were all working fine.

Ahh well
