@strypey Yes in #technojargon, but we shouldnt use that kind of nonsensical language when trying to understand the nature of the digital.

@owlchemist I personally believe #technojargon is the primary reason why we dont see progress in the digital. Unchained software, selfhosting, creative commons, right to repair and so on. That is why Im working on this.
#technojargon
Stop saying that the fediverse is built up of instances. That is not how it feels like. It doesnt reflect the experience. And this form of technojargon alienates people and make them feel its more complicated than it is.

Instead it is built up of societies. These societies are by default associating with other societies, but can choose to shun if it is deemed necessary.

The server client analogy doesn't make sense.
Just visualize.
There's the SERVER that contains the site and the server that serves the client. A client (xin) asks SERVER for a server and the server comes to the client. The server asks what xin wants. Xin wants to watch the "How to repair a unicycle" video. The server goes back to the SERVER and just shoot rays of video to the customer.
@digitalpanopticon Same thing with how we talk about the internet. We looke at it as composed of webs. Our brains can't make sense out of that. It's like calling the offline world the interregion. Technically it is correct, but it certainly doesn't make sense for our brain. #technojargon
Instead we should use a word like interspot or intersite, because our brain needs to understand the smallest meaningful parts of what it is trying to understand. #grounding
What we need most of all right now is people who challenge #technojargon
I rarely see people who do this. Even in the "radical" #foss communities. In actuality, foss communities doesn't challenge anything, they embrace the established language. In #DigitalIssues there are no radicality.

The system HTTP lets you jump from spot to spot, and experience other people's and organization's spots. HTTP is part of the interspot, the collection of all spots.
To create an HTTP spot, it requires a lot of development in order for the spots to be presentable. The site needs to be structured well and designed appropriately.
#Gemini is another interspot system which let's you create spots without hazzle.
What do we want from the interspot?

The communication system's bluetooth and wifi are radiation systems because they use radiation to enable communication.
This kind of radiation is public, so one should expect that your signals can be watched.
What harms does radiation communication pose to our privacy, surveillance and society? How can this radiation be abused and how can we bring more awareness around this radiation?

The system HTTP lets you jump from spot to spot, and experience other people's and organization's spots. HTTP is part of the interspot the collection of all spots.
An HTTP spot consists of three files. The most important of which is the content file named html, this gives the essential content to your spot. The style file named css, let you style the spot with fonts, colors, images and so on. The programming file named js, let you program functionality to the spot.
Have you ever wondered why people don't care about privacy? why aren't people self hosting? why don't people use unchained software?
The reason is because of #technojargon. It is limiting the amount people who can join the #DigitalIssues discourse, and thus reducing awareness.
When techlitterate people are using technojargon, they are compromizing societal awareness.
