I lost my sources to TED and other things a long time ago, except for copies on floppy disks such as this one. TED here is on an 8" disk. If something exists but you can't get at it, is it real?

TED was an editor for CP/M, roughly equivalent to TEC124 (TECO), in many ways a superset of it. It was my second TECO, the first was for an OS on a HP21MX computer. The native editor on that system was pretty bad, it almost required replacing.

@me_ Great, thank you. I'm glad Tcl has its field of application. I could find more info looking up "FPGA Tcl".
As for , well, even if a string-processing language was inadequate for that didn't mean it was inadequate for other applications. And it seems the days of calling scripting languages not *real* programming languages are now gone.

BTW, subtly looked like a mix of Lisp with PHP to a subjective me 🙂

I said to TECO-64 author:”I want search and replace Unicode, TECOC can but your can’t”
“No way! I’m embarrassed if TECOC can do something TECO-64 can’t”
Now TECO-64 can be used to edit UTF-8 on UNIXs, still you have to figure out the byte sequences yourself.

We went through decades of this with , when forked off the main universe, to create , then the major forks of , and - I suppose the big difference here is that different servers can allow different functionality within the same galaxy.
