Well I haven't read the book that it's based on, nor have I seen any criticism of either the book or the teleplay, but it was a well-meaning attempt to absolutely not show the full relationship between the church and indigenous communities. It's one story. And as stories go, it's not the worst. The priest only dies after making friends with the tribe he's sent to minister to. #teleplay

Now I'm starting 4:44 Last Day on Earth (2011), an Abel Ferrara film notably starring Willem Dafoe and Natasha Lyonne. So it seems darkness is expectable here. I went to a #tv workshop and was told the current desired length for hour-long pilots is 48-50 pages and for half-hour pilots it's 24-25.

Can anyone working confirm?
