I’m asking because I’ve been trying to help my team see some challenges that are around the corner for us, and they need specifics, so I’m trying to cast a wider net for some anecdotes.

Successful reconnaissance command prompt under w3wp.exe (IIS Worker Process)? Depending on the app, perhaps you have existing Telerik 3rd party components.

Check your weblogs for a smoking gun POST to /Telerik.WEB.UI.WebResource.axd type=rau which returns a type 500 server error.

Easy validation is to recursively search for Telerik.Web.UI.dll in the webroot folder. File version is indication enough, or you can check the hash on VT.

It is amazing how insecure and outdated implementations of Telerik continue to be used for initial access. Don't simply block the source IPs.. Patch your servers!
