#PathogenicCoronaviruses are known for the severe amount of #Complement component activation provoked. In keeping with that, surface Complement Regulatory Protein #CD46 inducts HERV-Env via C3b attached to SCRs 2-4. Interestingly enough, the Split Complement products produced via CD46 mediated inactivation of #C3b and #C4b are #NRP1 ligands.

I've just learnt that a participant of the #temelimab's phase 2 Post-Covid clinical study in Geneva 🇨🇭(#HUG, @Hopitaux_unige) is positive to the #HERV-W envelope proteine and will take part to this study. Fingers crossed for him🙏 and the others pple suffering of #LongCovid with #Hope they will do better and that a #cure will be found, as other trials are running. #LongCovid is not one but many different diseases with different symptoms (more than 200). 🕯️
