William Collins Memorial Fountain on Glasgow Green. Erected in 1881, it features a sculptured bronze female figure by John Mossman.
Many of Glasgow's Victorian public drinking fountains, including this one, were associated with the temperance movement. They aimed to provide a safe and free alternative to drinking beer and other alcoholic beverages at a time when clean water was only just becoming readily available in the city.
