Sorry one more #temperatureblanket concern.
The pattern I love calls for worsted (4) yarn and an H 5.0 mm hook. It produces a small blanket approximately 40” x 56”.
The yarn I love and have painstakingly chosen colors of is bulky (5). How much bigger will this make the blanket?
I hope the answer is it will wind up being the size of a throw blanket so about 50” x 60” because that would be perfect. Any chance of that?

My sister and I just spent a lot of time nailing down the colors for my #temperatureblanket. I’m so excited but I do wonder if I’ll regret merging the top two and bottom two temperature ranges. I did this because 10 colors were just too many.
I’ve included a screenshot of the colors with the ranges next to them and then a screenshot of the avg temps for last year. I don’t remember many days this winter when it’s been below 21° but do I want to mark when it does happen? Please say no. #crochet
@sarahdudley I was looking up temperature blankets on tik tok and they seem to get out of control quick size wise. I just found a tiny granny square temperature blanket which seems more compact like a throw blanket. She sells the pattern so I bought it. There are three blank squares I’m not sure what to do with. Maybe embroider our wedding date across the blanks?

Does a temperature blanket need month separator rows?
My sister, who works in textiles and has a really good eye for color, is going to help me pick colors today for my first year of marriage temperature blanket.
I can’t start it until 10/1/23 at the earliest (unless I crochet on my wedding day which is 9/30/23) but I just want to have the plan solidified so I can stop thinking about it so much. It’s just always in the back of my mind.

Do you know if anyone offers one on one #crochet advice? I’m making a 1st year of marriage #temperatureblanket and I’m trying to do it in variations of my wedding colors (rust, olive, mustard) and I’m having a really hard time picking colors.
I want to use this yarn: https://www.lionbrand.com/products/hue-me-yarn
We have a very 70s aesthetic for the wedding and in the house and the colors of this yarn really fit the vibe. I have some of the grapefruit for a baby blanket and it is so soft.
Ordered yarn from Michael’s online for a baby blanket. I was nervous since I hadn’t felt it but I’m happy to report it’s gorgeous and so soft. It’s Lion Brand Two of Wands Hue + Me.
I realized I want to use this yarn for my wedding temperature blanket. The colors vibe w/ mine (2nd pic) but I don’t know which to use in which order. I’m so bad with colors. Here’s a pic in order of what I’m thinking but really not sure of it. #crochet #temperatureblanket
Week 5. The first complete month is done already. Is this going to be another “blink and you’ll miss it” kind of year!

Week 4. Doing this blanket is making me more aware of how my flat changes temp more based on sunlight than the air temperature.

Week 3. We’ve hit a colder spell.

I forgot how much yarn #crochet eats up. Just under two weeks in on the #TemperatureBlanket and I’ve practically run out of one colour already.
Week 1 of my 2023 #crochet #TemperatureBlanket complete. I think it’s going to be a big one!
I want to #crochet a #temperatureblanket for our first year of marriage (wedding is 9/30/23) in variations of our wedding colors which are olive, rust, and mustard. I’m so worried about finding the in between colors but I have so much time to figure it out. If you’ve seen a temperature blanket with these retro, earthy kinda colors could you please share it?
I was thinking of doing one for 2023 but then I saw that suggestion (to make one for a special timespan) and knew I had to do that instead.
So during 2022 I knitted a thing called a temperature blanket, which is where for each line is a new day and a colour represents the temps.
Reds are 29c+ / Orange is 23c - 28c / Green is 18c - 22c / Dark blue is 12c - 17c / Light blue is 06c - 11c. The purple yarn is what separates the months.
I finished it on Sunday and I was a bit delirious at the end (it was so freaking heavy). But I'm happy with it. And I'm starting on 2023's blanket now! #knitting #temperatureblanket
@sheepnik @sheepnik I love this #TemperatureBlanket, thank you for sharing. I particularly like the way you've illustrated the temperature range from night to day and the changing hours of day length. It's a fabulous #knitting project.

Presenting my 2022 year long crochet project a #TemperatureBlanket I recorded the high and low ° daily temp & assigned a colour scheme accordingly. Losts of light purple so Ireland was mostly in the 7° to 9° range, we aren't the warmest countries but some bright pink..hot summer!
It is finished #knitting #temperatureblanket 8the unusual blue in the middle is a trip to the Arctic in August and the unusual pink at the end of December was a trip to the tropics.
I used to be more relaxed about #NewYear but now I’m trying to catch up with my #TemperatureBlanket Got to Dec16th 😁
People who have made temperature blankets before: did you use the day’s average temp? The highest temp? The temp at a particular time?
