Hannah Gillespie was born and raised in Majors Creek, on Yuin Country, in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.
Music was an everyday occurrence in the Gillespie household, with never a tune too far from the kitchen table - the folk music tradition has always been a part of Hannah’s life.
It was only a matter of time before she picked up a guitar and started to write.
Hannah undertook formal studies in performance and composition and went on to play widely with a diverse array of fellow musicians.
Hannah’s debut solo album “Growing up Stupid” was released in 2009.
It encompassed a vast array of musical influences in a collection of beautifully crafted songs, brought to life by some of the region’s finest players, including bass player Matt Nightingale – a musical partnership that still continues today.

Liz Stringer is bringing to an end her work on her “First Time Really Feeling” with her “First Time ... For The Last Time” solo tour.
The album gained her first entry into the ARIA Top 20 and an AIR Award for Best Blues & Roots album in 2021, and Liz spent most of 2022 with Midnight Oil, working as their backing vocalist and support act in Australia and around the world on their Resist tour.
In March, Liz was 2023 Artist of the Year at the iconic Port Fairy Folk Festival, where she performed two triumphant sets with her band.
The tour will bring an end to the long cycle of work that began with the recording of First Time Really Feeling in Canada in 2018.
It's a case of unfinished business, as the tour will finally reach the places that Liz couldn't get to following the album's release, thanks to various lockdowns.

David Leha, who performs as Radical Son, has shared his soul-shaking new single, Elder, offering a deeply powerful statement of devotion to country, his Kamilaroi and Tongan cultures and his iron-willed intention to endure, that sets neck hairs on end.
Radical Son is part of the long story. “I wish to be an elder, an old man on this land,” he sings in a voice so immense it seems to emanate from the rock beneath his feet.
Elder is the first taste of Biliyambil (The Learning), the highly anticipated second album by Radical Son which will also feature David Bridie, Emma Donovan and Jida Gulpilil, set for release on David Bridie’s Wantok label in September.
Elder is the keynote to the album’s themes of hard-won survival, belonging, and acquiring wisdom from life experience. It’s a song sung from mountaintops, loaded with a storied past and fully facing the future.

Paris Paloma grew up in Derbyshire in the UK.
She attended an all-girls boarding school, where she initially studied art and creative writing before music took over as her primary focus.
The performing experience she gained singing at large events for classmates served her well, as did her years of creative writing.
By 2020, Paloma was actively pursuing a music career and began recording her songs, which were built around a loose folk framework but incorporated everything from Greek mythology and art history to feminism.
Early singles like "Narcissus" and "Cradle" incorporated gentle acoustic guitar and rich sonic backdrops, framing Paloma's spellbinding vocals.
In 2023 her single "Labour," a mercurial folk-pop anthem, received a swell of viral success soon turned the song into a legitimate hit on the U.K. singles chart.
Now she has released the single "Yeti," a collaboration with American artist Old Sea Brigade which takes listeners on an emotive journey through the complexities of human connection.

Melbourne-based Yorta Yorta artist Scott Darlow has announced his new record, Deadly Heart, which is set for release in October.
The album is Scott Darlow’s latest effort at spreading an ever-important message of passionate activism and advocacy work.
The new single Deadly Heart explores the Nation’s ability to really walk as one with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The title track is a duet with The Jezabels’ Hayley Mary.
The duet asks tough questions around how one can elicit change to work towards a stronger and united future while remembering an important past.
Darlow grew up abroad as his father travelled for work, but this unconventional childhood gave him an insight into always being the outsider.
This unique perspective has fed into his music which often explores the complexities of Indigenous and non-Indigenous relations.

News that a long-lost five-track release by Sydney band The Most was making its way onto streaming platforms has made the ears of veterans of Australia’s 1980s underground scene prick up.
The Most were among many terrific acts in a crowded inner-city Sydney scene, and a band that spawned future members of the Lime Spiders and The Cruel Sea.
The EP was originally issued as a cassette in November 1982 in very limited quantities by fanzine “48 Crash”, and is now available online as the EP “Another Day”.
At that time, the band was made up of Phillip Thornton Vocals, Ged Corben Lead Guitar, Greg Owen Guitar, Tony Bambach Bass/Vocals/Piano, Richard Lawson Drums/Vocals.

2023 marks the 40th Anniversary of Goanna’s 1983 song, ‘Let The Franklin Flow’ and the High Court Decision, on July 1st 1983, that prevented the damming of the Franklin River.
In 2021 Goanna’s lead singer accompanied protestors to blockade the road in the Tarkine that leads to the proposed mine tailings dam site.
Two years later, the protesters are still fighting for nature and for common sense.
GOANNA has now released their first new song in 25 years.
The new single is called ‘takayna’, which is the palawa word for the Tarkine rainforest in North West Tasmania.

Wayne Gillespie & Famous Blue Raincoat have released their track Methadone
Their name should have already alerted you to the fact that this is a band that knows its music history – and who wouldn’t want to name themselves after a song by Leonard Cohen?
The fact that the core members have a little history themselves should also alert you to expect quality in the CD that accompanies this press release – and why not?
Singer/songwriter Wayne Gillespie has been making quality music in New Zealand & Australia since releasing his debut album Wayward Son in 1984.
Back in ’95, Wayne and Rob were playing together in a three-piece called Passionfish, releasing an EP, Love Comes Down and promoting Gillespie’s third album Living in Exile.

M.E. Baird is a remarkable and somewhat mysterious talent, not only is he a skilled singer, songwriter, and musician. Over a three-decade-long creative career, he has written and recorded five critically acclaimed solo albums, and numerous other recordings. He decided to share these raw sketches of possible songs with a close friend, producer, musician and creative mad dog, Jamie Trevaskis, to ascertain if there was value in working them up.
Upon hearing the sketches, Jamie proposed that they were worth exploring and recording.
Tracking was done live with virtually no retakes. Baird's voice developed renewed vigour and weightiness in tracks such as 'Spinning Man'. After day one of recording, it became clear to Jamie and M.E. Baird that they were creating something unique.

The Telling sees instrumental contributions from Bill Heckenberg,(drums) Craig Kelly, (bass) Stephen “Stretch” Teakle (keys, accordian, clavietta), Damien Neil (mandolin, guitar), Jack Howard (trumpet), Shane Reilly (pedal steel) with vocal harmonies from Grace Robinson & Damien Neil.
