It's a backend developer conference put on by the folks at #Temporal
I'm going to the #Temporal #Replay conference in September.
I haven't been to many conferences before.
Can seasoned conference goers give me some tips?
What should I bring with me? Don't know where to start 😅

@lutzhuehnken We're going through the process of figuring out how to evolve a classic "monolith", and I'm hopeful that using #temporal within new services to implement that service's internal workflows gives a bit of consistency across a relatively small organization. Where we find ourselves needing to call activities in other services, maybe that's an opportunity for using Events instead...might be the next evolutionary step

I often think about services providing "activities" (in #temporal speak) as asynchronous alternatives to "commands" that would have otherwise been implemented as HTTP endpoints.

@elan We're leaning into #Temporal quite a bit at work these days and I'm loving it. We're using it across Kotlin, Ruby and Typescript to build (hopefully!) resilient workflows. It strikes me as a really natural evolution from other competing consumer frameworks + event driven architectures.
@lutzhuehnken I'm nowhere near Hamburg so I won't be able to attend, but I've been really like #temporal (https://temporal.io), which allow us to write workflows that can cross domain boundaries (and language boundaries) when needed in a coherent way.
I want more people talking about #Workflow #workflows and #Temporal and #TemporalIO
