Biden-Harris pushed, by economic & political pressure—in office lobbying by non-profits & esp tenant militancy, rent strikes & eviction defense, during the pandemic—to implement (weak) federal tenant protections marks a new moment for the movement. The autonomous tenant union tendency is going to be all the more crucial as this signals responsiveness to militants that will come with it a development of efforts to coopt.
